Thom
Lynch’s artwork is both beautiful and thought provoking. Familiar
images are nudged into unusual juxtapositions, making a statement
or simply eliciting a smile from the viewer. Much of his work
is Surreal.
Lynch
describes his art as narrative in image, illustrative in style
and often using a Postage Stamp Format for commentary.
BIOGRAPHY
At the urging of a friend,
Thom Lynch first began exhibiting his artwork in the winter of 1990. Prior
to that time, he had only shown and sold his work privately. This
initial foray was in the International Art Competition sponsored by the
Ariel Gallery in New York City. Lynch’s paintings titled Gathering
Morning Glories and Alice on the Brink were awarded seventh
place out of more than 1200 entries…an auspicious beginning. He
has been exhibiting steadily ever since.
Thom Lynch has had successful
solo and group shows at Brion Galleries since it began as The Artists
Showcase in Chester, NJ, back in 1995. His work sold well, especially
after we moved to Lambertville in 1998.
Thom Lynch is one
of the founding members of The New Art Group which actively exhibits
throughout New Jersey.
